How Alexis Martinez Johnson Sold Out Traditional New Mexican Values
I am Dedicated to Ensuring Alexis Martinez Johnson is Not Elected to US House in November 2020 Because Based Upon My Experience Campaigning With Alexis Johnson for 10 months, Alexis is not qualified to Represent New Mexico in the US House of Representatives

I am sending a message to all people of Northern New Mexico that you must not vote for Alexis Johnson to US House of Representatives because she is easily manipulated with no loyalty to her supporters, and as Representative would only work for her own benefit and not the benefit of New Mexico.
The values I believe in are Traditional, New Mexican Values since I was born and raised in New Mexico in an “old school” conservative, Rural NM life. Values such as Faith, Family and Freedom which are the foundation of American sovereignty and Prosperity which has led us to be the greatest Nation in the History of the world. I believe in these traditional conservative values which also include hard work, loyalty and honesty which mean sticking together when faced with adversity, staying true to day one supporters, and the importance of keeping your word.
I learned these values from my Stepdad Paul H. Bradley who was a member of the Cherokee Nation, a general contractor, and who taught me the importance of politics, hard work, honesty. I learned these values in the Mountains of Dulce, New Mexico on the Jicarilla Apache Reservation where I spent my time hiking, hunting and fishing as a young child. The most important values to me include intelligence, loyalty, and consistently working to provide a better future for New Mexico.
I attended New Mexico Institute of Mining and Technology in Socorro, New Mexico where I graduated in undergraduate and with a Master’s of Science Degree in Mining Engineering, and where I served as Student Association President where I focused entirely upon improving services for NMT Students including printing bi-weekly Paydirt Newspaper, and one the only time ‘Porphyry’, the college yearbook had been printed in the last 20 years. I studied Mining Engineering where I learned the value of the extractive industries such as Mining, Logging and Oil & Gas to the New Mexico and US Economy, and how these industries are fundamental in ensuring a high standard of living for all Americans.
I believe in the importance of history, and having a strong political opinion, for me which has always been conservative and Pro-New Mexico family, for example, ensuring high quality educational opportunities for our youth, economic opportunities, and low cost of living due to the high poverty rate in New Mexico.
I am not a politician or a political consultant, Alexis asked me as a friend to help her run for Congress based upon us being fellow classmates from New Mexico Tech and that I was Student Association President in 2010, the year after Alexis graduated. I saw our partnership as an opportunity to give New Mexico a voice in our politics which has been ignored by our elected officials, for too long.

In the beginning, one of the biggest values that Alexis and I agreed upon was the importance, strength, and rich cultural history of New Mexico, and we agreed that this campaign would be a reflection of these values into government. Values such as hard work, New Mexico First, and Loyalty.
When I joined as a supporter of Alexis Johnson in October of 2019, she had no support, no name recognition, and no political experience or skill. Her own family wouldn’t support her financially despite owning multiple homes across Texas, New Mexico, Oklahoma, and owning businesses within the Oil & Gas energy industry. For Example, despite her husband Chris Johnson owning a wastewater remediation company which operates in the Permian Basin of SE NM / Texas, and employing 30–35 people, there was a time when I wanted to send out a press release and Alexis yelled at me because “we couldn’t afford a stamp”.
I worked under those type of financial pressure which required me significant time and effort due to the simple fact of being under such financial pressures (aka no stamps), and perhaps one of the biggest contributing factors to Alexis’s win in the Republican Primaries was having radio show on KIVA, hosted by Eddy Aragon, who is the owner of the radio station, hosts a daily radio show, and is very active within conservative politics due to these factors.
It was very challenging to ‘convince’ Alexis to advertise on KIVA in the primaries, and then again after her win in the primaries, to the tune that I had even agreed that I would pay the money out of my pocket in order for her to be on KIVA, it was that important to the campaign for me as campaign manager and I believed in the effectiveness of Radio and KIVA in particular. Before the Primary Election, there were a where Alexis called into Eddy (right after the primary) and then Eddy had Alexis for 3–4 interviews consisting of 45 minutes each — free of charge, which provided Alexis tremendous name recognition among the conservative voters in Rio Rancho, which is in district 3.
I helped her as a friend, and continued to work as campaign manager / consultant helping her run for congress when no one else was there — without pay, because I believed that — based upon what she told me, and also plain human common decency — that if I helped her to win the Republican Primary, she would allow me to retain control and guidance, she would listen to me as a person from New Mexico who helped her, and that she would stick to the values which we promoted during the Republican Primary. I believed in Alexis, supported her, worked on her behalf, and when she made it ‘big’, she turned her back on me.
She would eventually sell me out, her biggest supporter, volunteer and campaign manager at the first opportunity by handing over the reigns of control of something which I had built 95% of the work. The new organization she was building, with “out of state” consultants in control was immediately unable to meet simple deadlines. When I began raising issues such as the shifting direction of the campaign — such as to swing voter Democrats based upon the ideas out of state consultants — my thoughts and opinions were disregarded. Typical New Mexico Politics. It was incredibly hurtful for Alexis to go a completely new direction with the “Johnny Come Lately” band wagon after I had spent the previous 9 months working on the campaign and from the local New Mexican point of view and perspective who had invested tremendous time and money into Alexis when nobody, not even her own family, believed in her.
It was incredibly unwise for Alexis to switch entirely new directions so suddenly and we are seeing the results of this terrible decision continued to play out in the lack of substance, quality and impact of her current campaign.
The Day that Alexis Sold Out New Mexico Values
It was her and I before the election, and I worked without pay, and we agreed that she would keep me on as “Campaign Manager”. The night of the Primary Election on June 2, 2020, we had a watch party for the election results in Las Vegas, New Mexico. In attendance was myself, Lolly Hathorn, Peter Rael, and a couple of neighbors of Lolly’s. We were watching the television, some newspaper reporters were calling before the results started rolling in, the polls closed at 7 and we thought it would be announced by about 9 pm.
When the results began rolling in around 7 PM, the very first result (only a few hundred votes) showed Karen Bedonie 50%, Harry Montoya 25%, Alexis Johnson 25%. The TV screen would update every 15 minutes or so, so the next one showed Alexis ahead 37%, Harry 34%, Karen 31%. As the results continued to roll in the next couple of hours, we would scream and shout every time more votes were counted and Alexis was still in the lead, although Harry was catching up to her lead with every update and still to count was Santa Fe County where Harry had a significant edge and a large number of votes to be counted.
At 10 PM, the votes counted was stuck at about 71% so I headed back to Albuquerque, and I figured that the votes will have been done counted by the following morning, or by noon the next day. It ended up taking an agonizing 4 full days to count the final mail in ballots with Alexis winning by only about 700 votes in a historic fashion, being third on the ballot and a complete unknown in the political world.
Once she is announced as the winner, then all of a sudden everyone wants to be her friend. I keep saying that we need to work with what was successful, regarding messaging, outreach, connecting with New Mexicans, getting out there, keeping true to our values. Alexis’s immediate focus is on is on “hiring a general consultant”. During the month of June, I do my best to keep the campaign moving forward on the nitty gritty work, but the only meetings Alexis is able to schedule or attend is to interview campaign consultants.
she signs with Rory McShane, LLC and by signing away ‘sovereignty’ of Alexis Johnson for Congress, she gave up control and ‘sold’ out her supporters (me) who invested time and energy believing in her.
This decision of ‘hiring’ an out of state, out of touch campaign consultant is what ultimately would cause me to resign on July 28, 2020 as campaign manager for a number of reasons. By giving away the power and control which we had earned by ourselves with no support, belief or money, goes against the values I hold as a conservative in New Mexico. I resigned at the point when I realized that Alexis sold out as quickly as she possibly could all of my hard work, hope and investment based upon the values her and I shared when we started this campaign months and months ago.
When we, the people of New Mexico: voters, supporters, volunteers, friends and family ‘believe’ in someone and invest our time, passion, and hard earned money into someone or something, we expect them to honor their side of the bargain, stay true to what we agreed upon, and help us out the way that we helped them. That is the New Mexican way and that’s how we’ve gotten along for hundreds of years, which is also why so many “politicians” come to New Mexico and take advantage of our giving, hard working nature by simply lying and deceiving us, believing we have no political power to stop them.
Alexis Martinez Johnson wasn’t just a ‘candidate’ and I was the ‘campaign manager’, we are former New Mexico Tech classmates from ten years back, friends, and I was her biggest supporter, so if she sold me out this quickly, what do you think will happen to the voters of New Mexico?
Take it from me — Alexis’s former NMT Classmate, campaign manager / advisor, biggest supporter / volunteer — if she’s elected, she won’t accomplish anything of benefit for New Mexico and in fact she’ll focus more on her own career and “Familia First” than working as a strong, conservative representative for the people of New Mexico and she will “sell out” at every opportunity and also fold like a cheap suit at any adversity, such as when her cheap political stunt of refusing to wear a mask, demanding a court appearance, and then pleading “no contest”. Alexis is a great politician because she’s already lying to the people of New Mexico and wasting Taxpayer resources.
If We Allow Alexis Martinez Johnson to be Elected to the US House of Representatives
For my fellow New Mexicans who just want to have a quiet peaceful life, with educational and economic opportunity for our families, who believe in working hard and keeping the benefits of their hard work, Alexis will take advantage of our good and generous nature for her own benefit, and will spit in our faces once she achieves the “next level” of her career, as she has done to me.
For people who believe in New Mexico First, and that our elected officials work for New Mexico and should do what’s best for New Mexico Families, Alexis’s actions in not keeping her word on our agreement shows that New Mexico Families will not benefit if Alexis is elected to the US House of Representatives and will be Ben Ray Lujan 2.0, just the ‘Republican’ version.
Despite all of her tough talk, Alexis won’t stand for conservative values, such as the time she made a stand for constitutional rights regarding wearing a mask, demanded her day in court, and then ‘plead’ no contest, a tremendous waste of time and taxpayer resources in a cheap political stunt where Alexis ended up folding like a cheap suit.
If Alexis Johnson is elected to the US House of Representatives, we can expect her to sell out New Mexico as quickly and cheaply as she can in order to advance her own career. By the time Alexis is elected she will be entrenched in the US House for at least 2 years and New Mexico Families will continue to suffer the effects of an out-of-touch politician who is more concerned with out-of-state campaign consultants than listening to the people of New Mexico who pay her salary.
If Alexis succeeds in becoming the next US House Representative for NM CD-3, The voters of New Mexico will have shown that Politicians can still come to New Mexico, lie to us, deceive us, all the way to Washington, D.C. with no recourse. Alexis Johnson does not support those who support her, and there is no benefit to supporting her because when she wins, all of the band wagon jumpers will be at the front of the line when she starts handing out money and political benefits, with the “forgotten New Mexican”, whom she claims to advocate on behalf of, at the end of the line.
As you can see, I believe in New Mexico and I believed in helping Alexis become elected to the US House because she said that she agreed with those values as well. I lived my values which allowed Alexis Martinez Johnson to take advantage of my good nature, as so many politicians have done before to the People of New Mexico.
The day that Alexis handed over the reigns of power to an out of state consultant was the day that she stopped listening to the people of New Mexico, including me who had supported her and built her entire campaign, taught her everything she knew, for free for 10 months, and once she made it to the next level, she sold out all of my hard work and passion, and gave the money and the power to an out of state consultant just like every politician.
